Selection of great quality Stuff!
I will start off by saying that my experience with The Cajun Pecan House was something I hadn't expected one bit. I've always been a loyal customer for king cake season. I never ordered anywhere else. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to the Cajun Pecan House for anything, and I will make sure to let everyone know what kind of experience I had with this place of business. I work in the food industry myself so I know what it's like having dissatisfied customers. There's a big difference between someone having complaints about something they simply don't like or complaining about something they don't like because it's nothing like what they ordered. Friday Oct 7 I picked up the first birthday cake I had ever ordered from The Cajun Pecan House. I tasted their pecan crunch filling at a family party, and I loved it. I knew that's where I would order our next cake. I never ordered anywhere other than The Cake Shop, and they never once let me me down, so it was hard switching, but I knew I had to have that exact filling. When I got to where I was going with the cake I noticed when I opened the box that this filling was oozing out the side. It definitely shouldn't of been doing that, but I wasn't gonna make a big deal of it. When we finally cut into the cake Friday night I realized the filling was NOT "pecan crunch" it was pecan of some kind but definitely not crunch. I called them Monday to inform them of the situation. I was told that the sugar in the filling probably didn't crystallize like it should of. If that was the case, why sale a cake to a customer with filling in it that isn't consistent with what you always sell? In the food industry consistency is what keeps people coming back. You can't sell one thing one day and then switch it up the next. It's suppose to be the exact same way every time you sell it. I was informed that I needed to call back Thursday to speak with the owner. I called Thursday morning, and she was wasn't available. I got a call back Thursday afternoon but was not able to take it. Today when I was able to call back one of the workers told me she wasn't there, but said she wasn't making another cake because "I got what I ordered". Like I said I work in the food industry, and I know this is no way to treat someone that's giving you a chance to make things right. Trust me, I never had any intention on making a review like this, but I feel like everyone should know the way they treat their customers. Hopefully this post will prevent someone else from getting the same kind of service.
You've got to try their king cake during the next Mardi Gras season, no one's is better.
They have the BEST fruitcake and candies. Sugar free candies are also available. If you haven't tried them you should stop by and give them a try.
I would love to put a 5 star cause of there king cakes are sooo good! But I just this year ordered one to be shipped out and I'm not happy at all! I thought I ordered the cake with the mask which is what I told the lady I wanted. But come to find out she didn't put it on the order form!! Check the order forms and ask for a copy! Being a customer who just this year spent over hundred dollars for king cakes they didn't suggest away of solving the problem. Over a 4 dollar mask!! Not Happy At All!
